Youd select cell D5, and then on the View tab, click Freeze Panes. Say you want to freeze the top four rows and leftmost three columns. Delete it when you are done with it.To freeze multiple columns, select the column to the right of the last column you want frozen and click Freeze Panes. Insert a new column beside E, copy AZ there. The freeze function will allow you to freeze above and / or to the left of a selected point on the sheet So the best workaround is to use a helper column. There is no way of freezing non-continuous columns that I've seen.
